Tackle & Fish Care Rules
- Barbless hooks only—no exceptions.
- No unattended rods—you must be in control of your rods at all times.
- No carp to be retained. Retention sacks are not allowed unless special permission is given.
- Padded unhooking mats must be used at all times—regardless of fish size.
- A minimum 42-inch carp landing net is required.
- Weigh fish using a proper weigh sling—never weigh directly on the scales.
- Carry an antiseptic fish care treatment (e.g., Korda Klinik, Propolis) and apply it to hook holds or injuries.
- Never use a cloth (wet or dry) to handle fish. This damages their protective slime coat.
Rigs & Bait Rules
- No permanently fixed leads—leads must be able to come free if a fish is lost.
- Rigs will be checked by staff or bailiffs. Ensure they are fish-safe.
- No surface fishing or floating baits.
- Braided mainline is not allowed—braided hooklinks are permitted.
- You must use rig tubing or a leader (e.g., leadcore) above your lead system.
- Bare line can damage fish. Naked helicopter rigs are the only exception.
- No live bait, no nuts, and no plastic baits.
- Do not dump excessive bait when leaving—dispose of leftovers in bins, not the lake.
Fishery Conduct & Safety
- No fires, guns, swimming, drugs, or excessive drinking.
- Dogs are allowed but must be on a lead and under control at all times. Clean up after them!
- BBQs must be raised off the ground. Burnt grass = you will be asked to leave.
- No bright camping tents. Only green fishing bivvies are allowed.

- They must be accompanied and directly supervised by a responsible adult (18+) at all times while on site.

Individuals aged 13 to 15 may fish unaccompanied only if:
-
They hold a valid (free) Environment Agency rod fishing licence, and

Note: It is the responsibility of the angler (aged 13–15) to ensure parental consent is obtained before fishing. Staff are not responsible for verifying consent beyond routine questioning.
-
All anglers aged 13 and above must carry their rod licence while fishing.
- GDHardy Ltd reserves the right to request proof of rod licence and/or age, and may ask any angler to cease fishing if found without a licence, underage and unsupervised, or conducting unsafe behaviour.

Failure to follow this policy may result in removal from the premises or a ban from future use.
